The Kërçovë-Dibër road remains unfinished; debris blocks the works.

The construction of the 19 km stretch of the road connecting Izvor to Dibër, originating from Kërçova, has encountered significant delays due to the discovery of major sinkholes during the ongoing works. While a large segment of the route has been asphalted and opened to traffic, several areas remain compromised by sinkholes. To finalize the road and ensure its full functionality, the installation of retaining walls is deemed necessary.

Consequently, the construction company has formally requested additional equipment from the Public Enterprise “State Roads.” However, approval for this essential equipment has not yet been granted. Rade Trajkovski provided an update, stating that there are no new developments regarding the Izvor–Gari road at this time. He confirmed that the requested equipment from the Public Enterprise for State Roads, necessary for constructing the retaining walls, remains unapproved.

Trajkovski added that while he has been informed that the equipment is anticipated soon, he cannot provide a definitive timeline for its arrival. The progress of the road remains contingent upon the approval and delivery of the specialized materials and machinery required by the company to complete the challenging works.
