The Central Election Commission has updated the preliminary results for political parties participating in the Kosovo Assembly elections as the counting of absentee ballots continues. According to the commission, the Vetëvendosje Movement has secured 53 seats, while the Democratic League of Kosovo has seen its count reduce to 18 seats. The Democratic Party has maintained its previous tally of 22 seats, and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo currently holds 7 seats.
The Central Election Commission stated that the counting process for all ballots received from voters outside Kosovo, specifically those submitted by mail, is scheduled to conclude by Wednesday afternoon. Valmir Elezi, the spokesperson for the Central Election Commission, announced that the tallying of 216 out of a total of 223 ballot boxes containing diaspora votes will be completed by the end of the current day. He indicated that the remaining seven boxes are anticipated to be processed shortly thereafter.
These ongoing updates provide a developing picture of the political landscape in Kosovo. The final distribution of seats in the Kosovo Assembly will depend on the completion of the absentee ballot count. The Central Election Commission continues to oversee the tabulation process to ensure an accurate final count for all major political groups.
