Water Supply Disruptions Reported in Central Kosovo Due to Landslide
Prishtina, Kosovo – The Prishtina Regional Water Supply Company (“Prishtina”) has announced a temporary reduction in water supply to several areas of central Kosovo following damage to the ITU Shkabaj main supply reservoir. The disruption is a direct result of landslides impacting the Shkabaj location. KRU Prishtina reports that reduced water supply will affect the communities of Fushë Kosovë, Obiliq, and the Kalabria neighborhood of Prishtina.
The reductions are scheduled to occur between 12:00 and 17:00 hours today, April 18, 2026. The company cited the landslide as the cause of the reservoir damage, leading to the necessary adjustments in water supply. Residents in the affected areas can anticipate limited water availability during the specified timeframe.
Prishtina officials are working to assess the full extent of the damage and are implementing measures to restore normal water supply operations as quickly as possible.
