The Ministry of Transport recently conducted a public procurement process for the supply of 150 electric buses and 75 associated charging stations. A total of four companies submitted bids in response to the public call. Following a thorough evaluation by the Public Procurement Commission, the assessment determined that only two of the participating companies met the established criteria for participation in the subsequent electronic auction.
Specifically, the evaluation found that Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co., Ltd and YES-EU DENMARK A/S YUTONG did not satisfy the required conditions set forth in the public call. The two economic operators that successfully qualified for the electronic auction were identified as BMC Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and another qualifying entity.
During the electronic auction held on the day of the announcement, IKARUS Electric Zrt submitted the most favorable bid, presenting a joint offer alongside EVN. The Ministry confirmed that the bidding process proceeded according to established public procurement guidelines. This process aims to secure the necessary infrastructure for the expansion of electric public transport services.
The selection of the winning bid will guide the Ministry in acquiring the required fleet of electric buses and charging stations to meet transportation objectives. The outcome signals a structured procurement phase for modernizing the public transport network through advanced electric vehicle technology.
