The number of complaints against “Safe City” has decreased, shifting from 476 in February to just 65 in March.

The Basic Criminal Court of Skopje released a statement indicating a notable decline in the number of citizens and legal entities refusing to take responsibility for traffic offenses in March. The court’s findings reveal a significant reduction in those opting to file lawsuits regarding registered violations within the “Safe City” system. The Criminal Court further reports that a backlog of cases stemming from previously submitted complaints is now being efficiently finalized.

During March 2026, the court received 65 appeals, predominantly requests for the initiation of enforcement procedures. This figure represents a considerable decrease from February’s total of 476 appeals. Specifically, 22 of the March appeals originated from legal entities, while 43 were submitted by individual citizens.

In contrast, February witnessed 431 appeals from legal entities and 45 appeals from individuals. This marked a substantial shift in the volume of cases brought before the court. The data highlights a positive trend in the resolution of traffic violations within the “Safe City” initiative.
