Political analyst Arton Muhaxheri suggested that the path to forming new institutions remains uncertain, even following the certification of election results. Speaking at an event in Dukagjin, Muhaxheri noted a lack of discernible progress, suggesting that Prime Minister Albin Kurti has yet to articulate his next steps after the results are confirmed. He highlighted the willingness of the LDK to cooperate with VV as a novel development, given that Kurti has not signaled any future co-governance invitations to them.
Muhaxheri opined that Kurti appears to be calculating, and his reluctance toward political compromise is hindering agreement on institutional formation. He speculated that Kurti may view opposition parties as subordinates rather than partners, suggesting this dynamic complicates potential cooperation. Muhaxheri expressed concern that, based on Kurti’s past behavior, the country might be moving toward new elections rather than a political solution.
In contrast, lawyer Tomë Gashi asserted that statements from political leaders, including the acting Prime Minister, are standard political discourse awaiting the Central Election Commission’s certification. Gashi argued that waiting for certification is unnecessary for commencing political discussions, as the election outcome was clear the previous evening. He stated that while political statements are normal, they are not required since the number of MPs is not expected to change.
Gashi warned that any delay leading to new elections would be unacceptable, asserting that all conditions are currently favorable for a political agreement and the creation of new institutions.
