The Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) convened a press conference today to express significant concerns regarding the implementation of the Reform Agenda within the Western Balkans Growth Plan. The group highlighted that delays in the execution of necessary reforms pose a substantial risk of severe financial repercussions for Kosovo. According to the GLPS, the conclusion of the fourth semester of the plan represents a critical juncture.
The organization stated that continued delays in implementing reforms are no longer merely administrative setbacks but present a genuine threat of fund forfeiture. Specifically, the GLPS emphasized that the situation has progressed beyond simple delays in fund utilization, escalating to an irreversible financial loss concerning the allocation of 90.6 million euros designated for the second semester. The group noted that these specific funds were subject to an implementation deadline of April 30, 2025.
Following this date, the allocated capital is set to become inactive. The GLPS urged stakeholders to address these implementation gaps immediately to mitigate the potential loss of these earmarked resources. Their concerns underscore the urgency required to adhere to the established timeline for the Western Balkans Growth Plan to safeguard Kosovo’s financial objectives.
