Prishtina Commemorates Day of Martyrs with Remembrance Activities

Prishtina, Kosovo – Today, April 18th, the Prishtina Municipality observed the annual Day of Martyrs, honoring individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom. The observance included a series of organized events aimed at remembering and paying tribute to these heroes. Head of State Albulena Haxhiu is scheduled to participate in key ceremonies, beginning with a formal homage at Zahir Pajaziti’s square and the Martyrs’ Cemetery.

The day’s activities are centered around recognizing the significance of this date within Prishtina’s history. The Prishtina Municipality has planned a detailed schedule of events. At 10:00 AM, a formal homage will be held at the Martyrs’ Cemetery Complex in Velani, Prishtina.

Following this, at 10:30 AM, a commemorative event will take place near the residence of hero Zahir Pajaziti. A blood donation drive is also planned for 10:35 AM at “Zahir Pajaziti” square. Finally, a second homage will be conducted at the Cemetery Complex at 11:30 AM.

This Day of Martyrs remains a significant occasion for the city of Prishtina, providing an opportunity for reflection and remembrance.
