The prosecution dismissed the KPC’s criminal complaint regarding agricultural grants. Peci announces legal measures against Abdixhiku, Bajrami, and Gur for false declarations.

Former Agriculture Minister, Faton Peci, has transitioned into the role of chairman for South Mitrovica. He has affirmed that the Prosecutor’s Office has dropped the criminal charges leveled against him pertaining to agricultural grants. Peci communicated this development via a Facebook post, asserting his intention to pursue criminal charges.

Specifically, he plans to file legal action against Lumir Abdixhiku, Hykmete Bajrami, and Paris Guri, alleging false criminal accusations. Peci’s statement clarifies that the Court of First Instance has ruled in his favor, dismissing the charges brought by the LDK. He emphasizes that the Prosecution’s decision reflects the reality of his tenure as Minister of Agriculture.

During this period, the institution underwent a radical reformation, a significant shift where farmers, for the first time, were no longer obligated to pay bribes to secure grants. A substantial sum of 360 million euros was allocated to 130,000 beneficiary farmers, and crucially, there were no documented instances of fraud. Peci maintains his innocence and is determined to address the accusations made against him.
