The Public Prosecution of Macedonia does not disclose details about the accident with three victims in Bllacë

The Public Prosecution has not released any new details concerning the fatal accident that occurred on the unfinished highway connecting Bllaca to Skopje, which resulted in three fatalities. While the investigation remains active, initial suspicions suggest the incident was caused by the vehicle’s driver taking an incorrect turn a short distance before reaching the Bllaca border. This misdirection allegedly caused the vehicle to enter the new highway section, a two-kilometer stretch that terminates abruptly in a ravine.

Authorities noted that this specific route currently lacks adequate public infrastructure, including proper lighting or warning signs to indicate that the highway is not yet operational for regular traffic. In a statement, the Public Prosecution confirmed that an inspection was conducted immediately following the incident. They reported that orders have been issued for comprehensive autopsies and further actions to ensure a full clarification of the case.

The office stated that investigative work is ongoing. The Ministry of Interior remains involved in the efforts to determine the precise sequence of events. The public remains awaiting further updates from the prosecution as the investigation continues to gather evidence regarding the circumstances of the accident.
