The recounting of votes continues in the QNR

The process of recounting ballots continued at the Counting and Results Center on the morning of Friday, June 19. State Election Commissioner Valmir Elezi provided an update, detailing the progress made by the State Election Commission (CEC) regarding the verification of votes. Elezi reported that on the initial day of recounting, Thursday, June 18, the center had processed 176 out of the 185 votes that the CEC had mandated for recount.

He specified that the remaining nine boxes of votes were scheduled to be recounted that morning, which would simultaneously conclude the recounting process as directed by the CEC. According to the Commissioner, the total number of votes subject to recount—185—represented 7.41% of the 2,498 regular votes cast on June 7, 2026. The CEC’s decision to conduct this detailed recounting effort aimed to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the final vote tabulation.

The ongoing recounting effort is a procedural measure following the initial tallying of ballots. The focus remains on systematically reviewing all designated votes to finalize the official count. The continuation of this review process through the morning hours underscores the commitment to a thorough and verifiable determination of the election results.
