The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has taken decisive action following the collapse of the road yesterday afternoon. Two municipal inspectors and an accountable officer have been temporarily suspended in connection with the construction of the “Don Shtjefën Kurti” road project. Rama emphasized the critical need for stringent and ongoing oversight by the municipal inspectorate.

He stated that “construction activities must be subject to rigorous and continuous inspection by the municipal inspectorate, in order to ensure the safety of workers, citizens and the quality of the work according to the approved project”. This action follows a serious incident at the construction site. Immediately after the event on the “Don Shtjefën Kurti” road, Rama initiated swift measures against municipal officials.

Specifically, the two inspectors who were stationed in the area where the collapse occurred, along with the accountable officer, have been suspended. The Mayor’s decision underscores the importance of maintaining high standards and prioritizing public safety during infrastructure development within Pristina.
