The second phase of tractor distribution for farmers in Peja benefits 16 farmers

The Municipality of Peja concluded the second distribution phase of agricultural machinery today, marking a significant step in the public initiative titled “Supply of Agricultural Machinery – Tractors.” During this recent phase, sixteen tractors were formally handed over to beneficiary farmers. The project is structured as a co-financing effort involving both the Municipality of Peja and the participating farmers. The handover ceremony was attended by key local officials, including the Mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, Deputy Mayor Fatmir Asllani, and the Director of the Directorate for Agriculture, Forestry, and Hydroeconomy, Tahir Shala.

This distribution effort represents a broader commitment to modernizing the agricultural sector in Peja. To date, a total of 65 tractors have been distributed to local farmers, following the initial distribution of 19 units in the first phase. Director Shala addressed the assembly, acknowledging the substantial interest demonstrated by the farmers.

He emphasized that the introduction of modern machinery is anticipated to have a tangible impact on boosting overall agricultural productivity. Furthermore, the equipment is expected to support the economic development of family-run farms across the region. The completion of this second phase underscores the municipality’s ongoing efforts to enhance farming capabilities and support the local agricultural economy through strategic resource allocation.
