The two airports of Macedonia served a total of two million passengers in the first half of the year

During the first half of this year, Skopje International Airport and St. Apostle Paul Airport in Ohr recorded significant operational increases. Combined, the two facilities processed 1,955,648 passengers, representing a substantial 28 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

In terms of air traffic volume, the airports conducted 13,167 flights, marking a 7.6 percent rise year-over-year. Performance remained strong in June alone, when the combined airports reported 374,714 passengers. This figure reflects a 15.6 percent growth compared to the passenger count recorded during June of the prior year.

Industry analysts noted that the 28 percent surge in passenger traffic over the first six months indicates a positive trajectory for the Macedonian aviation sector. Sustained double-digit growth in passenger air traffic is generally viewed as a key indicator of robust and consistent development within the region’s travel infrastructure. The data suggests that both airports are successfully handling increased demand from travelers throughout the year.

These figures provide concrete evidence of heightened activity and expanding utilization rates across the network during this reporting period.
