The vote counting for the July 7 elections is concluding, and 7.41% of the polling stations will be recounted.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced on Wednesday the finalization of the complete tally for all ballots cast during the early election held on April 7th of this year. During a press briefing, CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi detailed the conclusion of the comprehensive counting process for the Assembly of Kosovo election. According to Elezi, the CEC has now concluded the official counting of every ballot submitted from the early election period.

Furthermore, the commission announced a procedural decision to conduct a recount of the ballots originating from 185 regular polling stations. These specific stations account for 7.41 percent of the total votes cast across the election. The decision to recount these specific ballots, which had previously been tabulated at the Municipal Counting Centers, was made following the completion of the initial count.

This action represents a procedural step taken by the CEC as part of its post-election review. The announcement marks the tenth day following the initial election date, solidifying the conclusion of the initial phase of ballot counting. The recounting of these 185 polling stations is intended to ensure the highest level of accuracy in the final tally.

The CEC stated that this meticulous review of the ballots is part of its commitment to transparency following the election. The results of this recount are expected to finalize the official count, providing a definitive record of the votes received during the recent election cycle.
