The well-known Turkish commentator, Vedat Muriqi, desired to play for the Turkish National Team; everything was practically finalized.

Years ago, Vedat Muriqi, the star player for Ylli i Mallorcas Vedat Muriqi, had expressed a strong ambition to represent Turkey in international football. Commentator Haldun Domaç of A Spor revealed this desire, stating that Muriqi’s intentions were genuine. Currently, the Kosovo international captains “Dardanets” and is diligently preparing for a crucial match – the World Cup play-off against Turkey.

Domaç asserted that Muriqi had initially sought to play for the Turkish national team, emphasizing that a formal agreement had been reached. However, the deal ultimately fell through due to minor, unresolved issues. “Vedat Muriqi genuinely wanted to play for our national team,” Domaç explained.

“Fati Terim was the selector during that period.”

The situation transpired largely during Muriqi’s time at Giresunspor, where most of the necessary paperwork was finalized. Despite this progress, the agreement didn’t materialize. “It didn’t happen in the end because of some small details,” Domaç added, highlighting the frustrating circumstances surrounding the potential shift.
