This is the new V12 engine with 1070 horsepower – hear how it sounds!

Nilu, the manufacturer developing the upcoming sports hypercar, Nilu27, has unveiled details regarding the powertrain for its highly anticipated model. Central to the vehicle’s performance is a new 6.5-liter V12 engine, developed by Hartley Engines in New Zealand. During initial testing on a test bench, the engine surpassed its target output, achieving a power level exceeding 1070 kW.

This powerplant is engineered to provide a distinctive acoustic signature for the Nilu27, with the rev limiter set at an elevated 11,000 revolutions per minute. Nilu has shared an audio clip of the engine to give potential buyers an indication of its operational sound. The next phase of development involves relocating the unit.

The new engine will be transported from New Zealand to Germany, the location of the brand’s primary development department. Once in Germany, the unit will be integrated with a seven-speed transmission. This assembly process will finalize the powertrain package destined for the production version of the Nilu27.

The introduction of this powerful engine marks a significant milestone for Nilu, positioning the brand within the high-performance hypercar market. The combination of the advanced V12 unit with the transmission suggests a focus on both raw power output and an engaging driving experience for the new model line.
