Multiple institutions across various cities in Albania received emails this morning containing threatening content alleging the placement of explosive devices on their premises. According to the State Police, the messages originated from an unidentified email address and contained what authorities classified as terrorist-nature threats. Upon receiving reports of the threats, State Police units immediately commenced verification procedures at all affected institutions.
Officials stated that preliminary checks conducted thus far have not confirmed the presence of any bombs or other explosive materials. In response to the incident, the Directorate for Cybercrime Investigation initiated a joint effort with the Anti-Terrorism Directorate to trace the source of the communications. The police have advised the public to remain calm, confirming that no immediate danger has been established.
The State police emphasized that they are treating the matter with the highest level of seriousness. Their investigation is focusing on the digital trail left by the threatening emails to identify the perpetrators. Authorities stressed that while the threats were credible in nature, the physical sweep of the targeted locations has not yielded any evidence to substantiate the claims.
The police continue to monitor the situation and urge citizens to rely only on official updates from state security agencies.
