Three Kosovars arrested in Durrës, caught with 80 kg of drugs valued at 1 million euros, are from Gjakova.

Three Kosovars were arrested in Durrës following a police operation that targeted the trafficking of cannabis. Albanian State Police released footage today detailing the “Anchor” operation conducted in Durrës. The operation focused on intercepting narcotics originating from Canada, destined for Albania and subsequently for Kosovo.

At the Port of Durrës, authorities seized 127 packages of suspected narcotic cannabis, marketed under the name “Gelato.” The total weight of the seized drugs was approximately 80 kilograms, with analysis indicating a high THC content. The narcotics are estimated to have a market value of around one million euros. According to Syri, the three Kosovars arrested were identified as Besfort Jaka, Taulant Duraku, and Luan Gashi.

All three individuals are reportedly from Gjakova. The arrests were made as part of a concerted effort by law enforcement to curb the smuggling of controlled substances through the region. The seizure highlights ongoing efforts by Albanian authorities to monitor and interdict illegal drug shipments passing through Albanian ports.
