Three main issues between the US and Iran need to be resolved

Negotiations Between U.S. and Iran Remain Stalled as Ceasefire Looms

Ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding a potential agreement remain far from finalized, according to Iranian officials. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Chairman of Iran’s Parliament, said in a state television interview on Saturday that “Iran and Tehran are far from a final agreement.” The current ceasefire, which has paused attacks against oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, is projected to expire within days.

U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated continued discussions, though he expressed concerns about Iran’s flexibility. According to reports, including those from Telegrafi, Trump said Iran “has become less amenable” to negotiations.

Throughout the week, Trump had repeatedly asserted that a deal was imminent, citing concessions made by Iran. However, significant obstacles persist. A key point of contention revolves around the future of Iran’s uranium reserves, a matter Trump has suggested requires resolution.

The President has also threatened not to extend the ceasefire if an agreement is not reached. Despite ongoing talks, the situation remains complex, with no immediate resolution anticipated. The potential expiration of the ceasefire adds further urgency to the diplomatic efforts.
