Three citizens from North Macedonia were taken into custody at the police station in Han i Elezit on Tuesday evening. The individuals were suspected of attempting to cross the border in a vehicle in the vicinity of Ura e Gurit. During the routine vehicle inspection conducted by authorities, an old sand-blowing machine was discovered, which was subsequently confiscated.
Following questioning, and based on a decision from the prosecutor’s office, the three suspects were released. The case is expected to proceed through standard legal procedures. The confiscated equipment has been transferred to the customs terminal to undergo further processing.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation into the alleged illegal border crossing is continuing through established channels. The incident underscores ongoing monitoring of border crossings in the region.
