Today temperatures up to 38 degrees, IKSHPK reports on “heat symptoms”

The Hydrometeorological Institute has issued its forecasts for Kosovo, reports indicating that the region is expected to experience sunny and hot weather today. According to the forecast, minimum temperatures are projected to range between 12°C and 18°C, while maximum temperatures are anticipated to reach 32°C to 38°C. Wind conditions are expected to feature a light to moderate breeze originating from the northeast, with sustained speeds between 1 and 6 meters per second.

While residents may encounter slight local gusts in the afternoon, no conditions for precipitation have been reported. In conjunction with the weather forecast, the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has released several guidelines designed to help the public mitigate risks associated with high heat. The NIPH advises individuals to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, particularly during the peak hours between 11:00 and 17:00.

To remain safe, it is recommended that people seek shelter in shaded or cool indoor environments, aiming to spend a minimum of two to three hours daily in such a cooler setting. Furthermore, the public is advised to maintain heightened awareness regarding the risk of heatstroke. Special caution is urged for vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and other groups susceptible to heat-related illnesses.
