Voter Registration and Polling Station Adjustments Commence Today

PRISTINA – Today, May 6th, 2026, marks the beginning of several key phases within the upcoming electoral process, directly impacting voters both within Kosovo and those residing abroad. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has initiated a series of actions designed to ensure a smooth and accurate voter registration process. Today’s activities include the commencement of voter registration outside Kosovo, running from May 6th to May 17th, 2026.

Simultaneously, the relocation of polling stations within municipalities will take place between May 6th and May 17th, 2026. Furthermore, a period for addressing inaccuracies identified within the voter list has begun, continuing until May 18th, 2026. CEC Head Valmir Elezi highlighted the importance of these steps, stating that citizens living abroad can apply to be registered as voters outside Kosovo and select their preferred voting method.

The initiative aims to facilitate participation for all eligible voters. The focus today is on ensuring all voters are properly registered and prepared for the upcoming election. Further details regarding registration procedures and polling station locations will be released by the CEC.
