Tourist package prices could rise by up to 5% in Durrës, with the season starting earlier.

Durrës Sees Surge in Tourist Arrivals Driven by Rising Temperatures and Regional Factors

Durrës, Albania’s coastal city, is experiencing a significant influx of tourists this summer, fueled by rising temperatures and shifting travel patterns. The area is currently populated by holidaymakers from various countries, indicating an earlier start to the typical tourist season. Several factors are contributing to this increase.

Elevated temperatures have drawn visitors seeking coastal destinations, while geopolitical events in the Middle East have prompted a rise in tourists choosing Albania as an alternative travel location. Tourism operators have noted a moderate increase in prices for tourist packages, with some experiencing a rise of up to 5%. Blerim Norja, a local tourism operator, explained that this increase is largely due to rising raw material and fuel costs impacting the domestic economy.

Despite these higher prices, visitor interest remains strong. “This year there has been a moderate increase in prices, at a maximum of 5%, as raw material prices and fuel prices have increased, which are also directly affecting the domestic economy,” Norja stated. The demand for bookings continues to be robust, demonstrating the enduring appeal of Durrës as a tourist destination.
