According to reports from The Telegraph, the individual in the costume exited the driver’s side of a vehicle that was stopped at a red light. He then quickly aided the man in the wheelchair, helping him safely complete the crossing of the busy intersection. The masked figure was later identified as Christopher Hellenthal.
Hellenthal confirmed that he was dressed in the Marvel character’s costume as part of activities for Superhero Day at his workplace, Ultimate Air Trampoline Park. When speaking to WREG-TV, Hellenthal stated that the motivation behind his actions was simply to assist, remarking, “I was like, ‘okay, I’m in the Spider-Man costume; let’s do this.'”
