Acting President Haxhiu Honors Heroes on Martyrs’ Day
Pristina, Kosovo – Acting President Albulena Haxhiu participated in commemorations held on Martyrs’ Day in Pristina, paying tribute to the legacy of national heroes. The ceremony took place at the hero Zahir Pajaziti Memorial and at the graves of Heroes in Velani. During the event, Haxhiu expressed deep respect for the life and work of Zahir Pajaziti and his fellow fighters.
“We respectfully value the life and work of hero Zahir Pajaziti and of all his comrades,” she stated. Haxhiu highlighted the significance of Zahir Pajaziti and his group as pioneers of organized resistance against the previous regime. “Zahir Pajaziti and his comrades were among the first to give meaning to the organized resistance against the regime of that time, and they also served as an example of courage and determination in extremely difficult circumstances for our country,” she emphasized.
According to the President’s Office, the contributions of these individuals extended beyond purely military or guerrilla efforts. They also represented a crucial moral contribution, fostering hope for freedom and liberation within Kosovo. The legacy of Zahir and his comrades continues to be a central element of Kosovo’s national identity.
