President Donald Trump stated on Monday that he believed there was a “good chance” of reaching an agreement with Iran by Monday. This follows a threat that Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face significant bombing in response. During an interview with Fox News, Trump said, “I think there’s a good chance tomorrow, they’re negotiating now.” He further indicated that if a deal wasn’t reached quickly, the United States would “blow up everything and take the oil.”
Earlier on Monday, Trump posted harsh remarks on social media, asserting that the U.S.
would target Iran’s power plants and water facilities on Tuesday if the Strait of Hormuz remained closed. “God bless the military,” Trump concluded in his post.
