Undeclared Goods Discovered on Turkey-Prishtina Bus at Border Checkpoint

Kosovo Customs announced today the discovery of undeclared goods during a routine inspection at the Han i Elezit checkpoint, a key border crossing between Kosovo and Turkey. A Turkey-Prishtina line bus, bearing foreign license plates, was stopped for inspection as part of standard customs procedures. During the examination, customs officials identified a concealed compartment within the bus.

Inside, 27 formal dresses and two velvet dresses were found. These goods were determined to be undeclared and have been seized by customs authorities. “Customs of Kosovo will continue checks on vehicles entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and is actively working to prevent smuggling,” a statement from the organization read.

Following the discovery, administrative and legal proceedings are underway, in accordance with existing legislation. The exact value of the seized goods has not been disclosed. Customs officials emphasized their ongoing commitment to monitoring and inspecting vehicles crossing the border to combat illicit trade.

The seized goods are currently under investigation as part of standard customs protocols.
