Two complaints to the Constitutional Court, KQZ awaits decisions on the declaration of final results

The vote recount process for the early elections of the Kosovo Assembly, which took place on June 7, 2026, has concluded. However, the final announcement of the election results is pending the outcome of appeal procedures. Valmir Elezi, spokesperson for the Central Election Commission (CEC), confirmed in a statement to Telegrafi that the commission is awaiting determinations from several competent bodies.

According to Elezi, the CEC cannot proceed with the certification of the final results until it receives decisions from key bodies, including the Electoral Panel for Appeals and Complaints (EPAC). “The CEC is awaiting the completion of the review of appeals and the decision-making of the relevant institutions before proceeding with the announcement of the final results of the early elections for the Kosovo Assembly,” Elezi stated. He elaborated that the finalization of the process is contingent upon these institutional reviews.

The CEC must wait for the conclusion of the review of all filed complaints and the subsequent decisions issued by the appropriate authorities. Until these procedural steps are finalized, the official declaration of the election results will be withheld. This pending status emphasizes the formal verification steps required before the election outcome can be definitively announced.
