Two groups of pilgrims from holy places arrive in Kosovo

Family, friends, and relatives gathered at the Pristina International Airport “Adem Jashari” on Friday morning to greet returning groups of Kosovo pilgrims. These individuals have concluded their multi-week stay at the holy sites in Saudi Arabia after completing the obligatory Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. The arrival terminal was marked by family reunions and congratulations following the successful completion of the religious journey.

The first cohort of pilgrims departed Pristina on May 15, marking the commencement of the return process for this year’s group. The return of the pilgrims is scheduled to continue over the coming days, with the final group expected to arrive at the airport by June 8. In total, an estimated 1,576 Muslim believers traveled from Kosovo to participate in the pilgrimage.

The gathering at the airport serves as a point of convergence for the community following their time at the holy destinations. The successful return highlights the significance of the pilgrimage for the local population. Family members awaited the arrival of the pilgrims, providing a structured welcome as they transitioned back to their home country after their experience at the holy sites.
