Two nurses are arrested in Prizren, suspected of embezzling over two thousand euros from patient payments.

Two nurses employed at the Central Clinic of Family Medicine (QKMF) in Prizren have been detained for a period of 48 hours on suspicion of professional misconduct involving embezzlement. The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren announced that the ongoing investigation developed following the receipt of operational intelligence concerning the alleged misuse of patient payments. According to officials from the Prosecutor’s Office, the formal investigation commenced in June 2026, authorized by the State Prosecutor.

During this period, authorities secured evidence suggesting that the two individuals may have misappropriated funds intended for health services. The suspects have been identified as X.B., who served in the capacity of head nurse, and B.R., a registered nurse. The investigation into the matter was conducted in cooperation with the Kosovo Police – Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption.

The detention of the two nurses is part of the procedural steps taken by law enforcement to examine the financial discrepancies found within the clinic’s records. Authorities maintain that the accumulated evidence establishes a reasonable basis for suspicion regarding the alleged embezzlement of funds managed through patient payments. The focus of the inquiry remains on determining the full scope of the financial irregularities at the facility in Prizren.
