Ukraine Seeks Turkey’s Mediation for Zelenskyy-Putin Meeting
Ukraine has approached Turkey, seeking assistance in organizing a high-level meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Vladimir Putin. The request includes potential participation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha disclosed the initiative following his attendance at the 5th Diplomacy Forum in Antalya. According to a report by Telegrafi, Sybiha stated that Ukraine has formally requested Turkey to explore the feasibility of such a meeting. “We have asked turkey to consider the possibility of organizing a meeting at the level of Presidents Zelenskyy and Putin, with the possible participation of Presidents Erdogan and Trump,” Sybiha explained.
“We are ready for such a meeting. The only problem is that Putin is currently hiding.”
Sybiha emphasized Ukraine’s willingness to engage in dialogue, stating that President Zelenskyy is prepared to participate. The stated goal is to facilitate a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
The proposal highlights Turkey’s potential role as a mediator in discussions between the involved parties. Further details regarding the potential meeting and the response from Russia and the other involved nations remain unclear.
