Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted long-range strikes overnight against multiple strategic targets located deep within Russian territory, exceeding 1,300 kilometers from the front lines. According to Zelensky, one of the facilities struck was the Bashneft-Novoyl oil refinery situated in Bashkortostan. Furthermore, he stated that the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in the Yaroslavl region, approximately 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, was also targeted.
The Ukrainian president also reported that the overnight operation included hits on two Russian military patrol ships in the Black Sea. Additionally, Zelensky claimed that vessels associated with the so-called “shadow fleet”—a maritime network reportedly used by Russia for oil transport despite international sanctions—were struck. These reports detail one of the deepest reported strikes from Ukraine into Russian territory.
Kyiv continues to focus its targeting efforts on energy infrastructure and other strategic assets deemed vital to Russia’s war financing and logistical capabilities. Russian authorities have not yet issued official confirmation regarding Ukraine’s claims, and independent verification of the extent of any damage resulting from the attacks remains unavailable.
