Kosovo Customs officials intercepted a traveler during routine security checks at Pristina International Airport. The incident occurred on a flight traveling from Hamburg to Pristina. According to a media statement issued by the customs authority, the inspection process began when officers scanned the luggage belonging to a traveler who had passed through the designated green channel.
During the scanning procedure, customs personnel detected elements within the luggage that were flagged as potentially constituting prohibited goods. This prompted a physical inspection of the suitcase. Upon inspection, officers discovered eleven pieces of ammunition intended for weapons.
The statement noted that immediately following the discovery, the Kosovo Police at Pristina Airport were informed. Subsequently, the police took appropriate legal action and confiscated the ammunition. Kosovo Customs reiterated its commitment to law enforcement efforts and the protection of public security.
The authority issued a warning regarding adherence to customs regulations for all travelers passing through the airport.
