Data from the Customs Directorate, as reported by “Faktor,” indicates specific trends regarding vehicle imports into Macedonia. While the average age of vehicles currently operating on Macedonian roads stands at 19.4 years, suggesting a gradual rate of domestic vehicle renovation, the importation statistics provide insight into the influx of newer models. For the period spanning January through October 2026, a combined total of 36,614 passenger vehicles, encompassing both new and used models, were imported into the country.
Analysis of this total reveals that 8,832 of these units were new, accounting for approximately 24 percent of the overall imports—roughly one in four vehicles. Furthermore, the data highlights an increase in the importation of new vehicles compared to the previous year. Specifically, the number of new vehicles imported during the first seven months of 2025 was 7,594.
The current figures show a noted rise in the volume of new vehicles entering the Macedonian market. These figures illustrate that although the overall vehicle fleet in Macedonia has a considerable average age, the import stream continues to incorporate a significant proportion of new vehicles. The consistent arrival of new vehicles suggests ongoing activity in the sector, even as the general age profile of the existing vehicle population remains high.
