Violence against the student at “Pavarësia” School – the principal and teacher are expected to return to work four months after the suspension

Halil Brahaj, the director of “Pavarësia” School, and Abaz Kadriu, a teacher at the institution, are scheduled to return to work on July 1, 2026, following a four-month suspension. This decision was issued by the Disciplinary Commission of the Municipality of Pristina. The suspension stemmed from charges filed against both individuals on February 26, 2026.

The charges related to the alleged criminal act of “Mistreatment while performing official duties.” Specifically, the allegations concern an incident of physical violence directed against a student that occurred on February 9, 2026, within the school premises. This incident had been previously reported by KALLXO.com. Legally, the matter remains active.

The Pristina Court confirmed that the case files pertaining to Brahaj and Kadriu were received on March 3, 2026. Because the case is relatively new, the court has not yet set a date for a preliminary hearing, though it is anticipated that a hearing will be scheduled in the coming months. The initial complaint detailed that the teacher physically assaulted a student.

While the disciplinary body determined the terms of their return to work, the legal proceedings regarding the charges against the director and teacher continue through the court system.
