Kosovar President Albulena Haxhiu stated that a January 16th protest outside Parliament was justified in response to the suspension of the parliament and related institutions. In a Facebook post, Haxhiu explained that the action was taken to safeguard the rights of the people. Haxhiu asserted that the decision to suspend the parliament and institutions was intended to counter a perceived plot to destabilize the government and undermine public rights.
She characterized those involved as “plotters” seeking to overthrow established institutions. The protest itself took place outside the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. Kosovo’s President, Ramush Haradinaj, was also present at the demonstration.
Details regarding the specific reasons for the suspension of the parliament and institutions remain under discussion.
