Weapons and ammunition seized in Leposaviq; Police also find flags with nationalist inscriptions

The Kosovo Police conducted an operation in the municipalities of Leposaviqi and Vushtrri, resulting in the seizure of weapons and ammunition, and leading to the criminal charging of one individual for unauthorized possession of arms. According to the official police announcement, the action was executed by officers from the Regional Investigations Sector in North Mitrovica. These officers collaborated with investigators from the Unit for Investigating Economic Crimes and Corruption in Prizren.

The investigation was initiated after the police received intelligence suggesting that a suspect, identified by the initials A.A. and born in 1997, residing in Leposaviqi, was in possession of illegal weapons. Following the receipt of this information, multiple police units proceeded to conduct searches across the region.

Specifically, checks were carried out at two separate locations within the Leposaviqi municipality and one location in the Vushtrri municipality. During the course of these inspections, law enforcement personnel seized various items, including a flag inscribed with the text “Kosovo is Serbia,” alongside multiple firearms and associated ammunition. The police confirmed that the operation successfully addressed concerns regarding the illegal accumulation of dangerous weaponry within the targeted areas.

One individual was subsequently charged in connection with the unauthorized possession of these items. The police stated that the operation underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain public safety by removing illicit weapons from circulation.
