Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced today that the entire new road segment known as “Momin Potok” is scheduled to become fully operational by the New Year. During an inspection of the ongoing construction works, Gjorgjievski detailed the scope of this significant capital project, noting its multi-faceted nature. The development aims to substantially improve traffic flow and connectivity within that section of the city.
According to Gjorgjievski, the complex infrastructure overhaul includes the construction of five new bridges, the installation of protective retaining walls, and the addition of dedicated pathways for both pedestrians and bicycles. During the site visit, the Mayor provided specific updates on the progress. He confirmed that approximately two kilometers of retaining walls have already been constructed.
Regarding the bridges, he highlighted that a bridge located near the inspection point is scheduled for concrete pouring on Tuesday, which will establish a full connection with a nearby roundabout situated 500 meters away. Gjorgjievski emphasized that the completion of these various elements marks a major upgrade to the transportation network in Skopje. The integration of these new pathways and structural improvements is expected to enhance the overall quality of life and ease congestion for residents and commuters utilizing the Momin Potok corridor.
