Kosovo’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, addressed parliament today regarding rising fuel prices, urging citizens to report instances where they observe prices exceeding the current market rate. Following Kusari-Lila’s statement, opposition MP Janina Ymeri criticized the ministry’s approach. Ymeri argued that Kusari demonstrated a lack of understanding regarding the situation in Kosovo.
According to Ymeri, Kusari’s response involved repeatedly calling on regional administrations to report higher fuel prices, rather than addressing the underlying causes. Ymeri stated that the ministry’s actions appeared solely focused on public appeals for information. “The administration has managed the municipalities as well as it could by urging anyone seeing a price exceeding 1.83 to report it,” Ymeri said.
The debate highlights ongoing concerns about fuel costs in Kosovo and the government’s response to addressing them.
