YouTube expands private messaging feature to nine other countries

YouTube is continuing to enhance its functionality, notably by expanding its capabilities for sending private messages and sharing videos directly within the application. The platform initially tested this feature in several select countries last year before rolling it out to 31 markets. Previously, the United States was not among the included regions.

The latest announcement confirms a further expansion of this feature to nine new locations. These newly added areas include the USA, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. This expansion increases the total number of supported countries to 40.

Regionally, the supported list also incorporates Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and Romania. It is noted that Serbia is not yet included in the rollout. With these updates, users who are over 18 years of age, are registered, and reside within the supported countries can now utilize the enhanced private messaging and video-sharing capabilities on YouTube.

The ongoing expansion underscores YouTube’s commitment to broadening user access to its communication tools across a wider global audience.
