Zekolli-Shaqiri: BDI used the Skopje-Bllacë highway for voting

Deputy Minister of Transport, Kaltrina Zekolli Shaqiri, alleged at a press conference that the BDI has utilized the Skopje-Bllacë highway project for political campaigning over several years. Zekolli-Shaqiri indicated that the recent contract signing for the second phase of the highway construction serves as evidence that “projects are not realized through propaganda, but through work.”

Addressing the history of the project, Zekolli-Shaqiri noted the repeated commitments made regarding the highway’s development across various years, including 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020, and 2023. She stated that despite these multiple assurances, the public had only witnessed the construction of approximately 2 kilometers of the road.

Speaking on behalf of VLEN, the Deputy Minister asserted that patriotism should be measured by tangible work output. According to Zekolli-Shaqiri, the Skopje-Bllacë road is now transitioning from a series of promises to actual implementation. This statement underscores a focus on the physical progress of the infrastructure, with Zekolli and Shaqiri emphasizing that the current development marks a significant step toward the completion of the vital highway link.
