Zhernovski stated that significant funds are being wasted on hospitals, schools, and reforms due to the delay in joining the European Union.

Andrej Zhernovski, the international secretary for SDSM, has strongly criticized Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, alleging he is hindering North Macedonia’s progress toward eurointegration. He asserts that this obstruction is resulting in the country losing substantial funds from the European Union. “It’s utterly unacceptable to hear such a declaration from a prime minister, particularly one entrusted with leading us toward the EU,” zhernovski stated.

“At the very least, this reveals his true stance. Given his alignment with Orban, we can question the amount of significant funds Hungary has secured.”

The core of the issue revolves around the financial losses stemming from stalled reforms, particularly concerning hospitals and schools. Zhernovski directly responds to Mickoski’s declaration that “we are prepared to wait decades” for EU accession, citing a lack of willingness for immediate constitutional adjustments.

Zhernovski underscores the detrimental impact of Mickoski’s position, emphasizing the considerable funds North Macedonia is forfeiting due to the delayed integration process. He believes the situation demands immediate attention and a shift in strategy to regain lost ground.
