The Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRRE) announced a postponement of the new electricity tariffs, and MP Ferat Shala of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) described the decision as politically motivated. In an interview, Shala stated that the request for a 20% increase from the three energy operators is inappropriate given the current state of the Kosovan economy. He argued that a price increase is not justified considering the economic circumstances.
Shala expressed concern over the ZRRRE’s decision-making process. While the regulator initially opened the process for accepting requests from energy service companies, it subsequently determined that the requests were approximately 10%.
