Albanian police issue 396 traffic fines in Skopje and Kumanovo

Police authorities conducted extensive enhanced traffic controls across the cities of Skopje and Kumanovo, resulting in the issuance of a total of 396 fines for various violations. In Skopje, a six-hour operation saw the police issue 326 citations. A significant portion of these fines targeted motorcyclists, with 92 violations recorded for operating motorcycles without wearing protective helmets.

Additionally, authorities noted one misdemeanor charge related to the careless operation of a vehicle, and one vehicle was impounded due to suspected technical irregularities. The controls in Kumanovo yielded 70 fines. These included 39 fines issued to motorcyclists who lacked proper helmets, alongside nine fines for electric scooter operators who were observed operating outside established traffic regulations.

During the Kumanovo operation, the police documented four separate misdemeanors. Furthermore, the police made one arrest for careless vehicle operation and seized four vehicles in total: three motorcycles and one quad bike. Overall, the coordinated enforcement effort demonstrates a focus on improving road safety standards across both municipalities.

The substantial number of fines issued highlights continued enforcement efforts by the police to ensure compliance with local traffic laws, particularly concerning mandatory protective gear for two-wheeled vehicles.
