Mother fined 300 euros in Prizren for leaving children locked in a car, exhausted and dehydrated

Kosovo Police issued a statement detailing an incident in Prizren where several children were discovered locked inside a vehicle due to extreme heat. According to the official report, the police were alerted to the situation on June 27, 2026, at approximately 5:50 PM. The initial information indicated that the children were confined within a parked car located in a shopping center in the city.

Upon receiving the distress call, police units responded immediately to the scene in Prizren. Officers were required to open the vehicle using a metal crowbar to gain access to the occupants. Authorities reported that the children were found to be suffering from exhaustion and dehydration as a direct result of the high ambient temperatures inside the enclosed car.
