Abdixhi will be dismissed, say members of the LDK Presidency

Jehona Lushaku, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), publicly stated that she was not among the signatories involved in the removal of the party’s leader, Lumir Abdixhiku. Speaking prior to a meeting of the LDK Presidency, Lushaku addressed the party’s internal governance, positioning the LDK as a model for other political entities in Kosovo. Lushaku emphasized that the current challenges facing the party require a commitment to internal dialogue and comprehensive self-analysis.

She asserted that the path forward should not be determined by the collection of signatures but rather through structured internal discussions. “We are at a stage where the LDK must analyze the elections and resolve this issue through internal dialogue,” Lushaku stated. She acknowledged that differing approaches within the party are normal occurrences, but stressed that all decisions must prioritize the best interests of the LDK and the general interest of Kosovo.

The Deputy Chairwoman underscored the importance of maintaining robust internal democracy within the party structure. Lushaku’s remarks suggested a call for reconciliation and a return to consensus-building mechanisms within the LDK leadership. By framing the discussion around institutional health rather than individual disputes, Lushaku urged all factions to work toward a unified political direction for the party.
