The European Commission has confirmed it is currently evaluating the report submitted by Kosovo regarding the implementation of reforms under the Instrument for Reform and Growth. This evaluation follows the submission of the payment request from Kosovo’s institutions. In a statement provided to Telegrafi, a European Commission spokesperson clarified the procedural timeline for the reporting process.
The spokesperson noted that the deadline for partner countries to submit reports detailing the initial steps for the fourth reporting period was April 15, 2026. “April 15, 2026, marked the deadline for partners to submit reports on the implementation of steps for the fourth reporting period of the Instrument for Reform and Growth,” the EC spokesperson stated. According to the Commission, the evaluation process for the implemented reforms commences only after the official submission of these reports.
This review forms the basis upon which the European Commission will subsequently take its actions and make necessary decisions regarding Kosovo’s progress. The Commission’s assessment is central to the ongoing support mechanisms provided through the Instrument for Reform and Growth. This ongoing review underscores the structured commitment required from Kosovo to meet the benchmarks set by the European Union framework.
