In addition to the situation in Nepal, China has confirmed three fatalities in the Xizang Autonomous Region, also known as Tibet, bringing the cumulative total of deaths to 472 across the affected areas. Regarding the missing persons, the Nepal Tourism Board reported late Friday that 667 individuals, including foreign nationals, were unaccounted for in Nepal. Separately, Beijing stated that over 550 people, including 260 foreign nationals, are missing in the Tibet region.
The severe floods and associated mudslides struck northern and central Nepal early on Wednesday, impacting the affected communities. Rescue efforts continue across the region as authorities work to locate missing persons and manage the aftermath of the natural disaster.
