A 22-year-old man from Tetovo was deprived of his freedom after attempting a robbery at a premises.

Following an incident involving an attempted robbery at a hotel facility in Tetovo, local police successfully detained an individual accused of the crime. Authorities reported that a resident, identified as H.D. (22), was taken into custody after police intervened following reports of suspicious activity.

The events unfolded on June 3, 2026. Initially, a colleague, A.I. (38), reported that around 3:30 PM, H.D.

had attempted to commit a robbery at his workplace within the hotel complex. Subsequent police action led to H.D. being formally deprived of his liberty at the Tetovo Police Station on “Ilinden” street.

During the ensuing investigation, law enforcement officers seized a gas-powered pistol from the suspect. Furthermore, mandatory alcohol testing confirmed that H.D. was under the influence of alcohol, registering a blood alcohol level of 1.35 per mille.

The police response was swift, leading to the confiscation of the weapon and the detention of the individual. Authorities confirmed that appropriate criminal charges will be filed against H.D. in connection with the attempted robbery and the possession of the weapon while intoxicated.

The incident underscores the local police’s vigilance in responding to public safety threats within the Tetovo community.
